Your journey to becoming a yoga teacher will be led by senior Yoga Teacher Amelia Disspain and Yoga Therapist and Physiotherapist Liz Bennett. As teachers with a combined experience of over 40 years we will support you to build the skills to clearly and confidently share the practice of yoga with your community

Yes, this course is a certified 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course with Yoga Australia - this is Yoga Australia provisional membership - once complete you can begin teaching (with insurance and current first aid ) and you must complete a further 150 hours of study within three years to upgrade to 350hr qualification , which is Yoga Australia Level one
You have access to the online course platform for six months from the course start date - an extension may be granted on application. Some online manual notes and videos are downloadable so you can keep the content for future reference
The course will involve approximately 12 hours combined of reading, study and practice per week.
As well as paced quizzes and both written and practical assignments over the duration of the course you will teach a one hour assessment class to your fellow students via Zoom and complete and short written assignment.
Each Wednesday at 6.30pm-7.45pm AEST we will run a live session via Zoom - we will email you the link to the Zoom class 15 mins before the class start time. The classes will alternatively focus on a specific topic within a practical workshop style class and an opportunity for you to practice teaching your fellow students and gain feedback and guidance on your teaching. If you cannot make the live class time the class will be recorded for you to watch at a later date and you can ask any questions via the online discussion forum- if you miss a teaching practice session you will need to arrange an alternate catch- up time with Amelia or Liz. The rate for Zoom catch- up sessions is $90/hour.

This course is designed for yoga students with at least a year of consistent practice who are ready to deepen their practice or step into the role of the teacher.

Week Three - Week Three - Fundamentals of Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga – connective tissue, fascia, tension, compression, age related practice and the spine Week Four -The Fundamentals of Yoga Physiology –Prana and the subtle body Week Five -A Brief History of Yoga and introduction to important yoga texts and the many paths of yoga Week Six - An introduction to Ayurveda - the wisdom of living Week Seven- Pranayama and the Applied Anatomy and Physiology of the breath and nervous system Week Eight - Asana - Fundamentals of standing postures Week Nine - Asana - Fundamentals of seated and floor based postures Week Ten, Meditation, Interoception , Savasana and Yoga Nidra Week Eleven-What is trauma and how to teach trauma aware classes Week Twelve - Teaching methodology - sequencing masterful classes and teaching beginners Week Thirteen - Asana - Inversions and back bending postures.
